Q: Can I really access Accolade anytime and anywhere for unlimited practice and review?

Absolutely. You can log into your Accolade account from any computer anytime and anywhere. Whether you are home after school or in the evening, at a friend's house, visiting relatives, or on vacation in the summer, you always have access to Accolade and can continue to improve your test-taking skills for beating the NEW SAT at those times and places when it is most convenient for you. In fact, some particularly enterprising students even enroll with Accolade as freshmen or sophomores in high school, and begin to prepare for the SAT several years ahead of time. Not only does this strategy allow these students to perform well on the PSAT in the fall of their junior year, it also enables them to master every aspect of the SAT and score very well indeed.

Q: How is Accolade able to achieve such impressive results and yet charge so much less than other companies?

Accolade is successful for two reasons. First, the content of the instruction and the sophistication of the feedback loops in the software are the best in the business. In addition, the fact that we have created a unique hybrid course that combines the best of live classroom lessons, archived streaming video lectures and a revolutionary web-based tutorial system for the NEW SAT creates efficiencies for students, for parents and for us as well. Efficiency, convenience and economy are guiding principles of our business, and we pass the savings on to our customers while still presenting a premium product.

Q: How do I open an account with Accolade?

The enrollment process only takes about 3 minutes, and can be done in two ways:

1) Parents can click on ENROLL NOW to establish a Parent Account, pay for the Premier Course, and send an email to their child that explains how to create a linked Student Account.

2) If a student has already created a Student Account, then the student can log in to his or her Student Account and then in the upper right-hand corner of the student homepage click on the ENROLL NOW link.

Q: How do parents access Accolade to check on student progress?

Once students or parents have opened an account with Accolade by filling out the ENROLL NOW online registration form and completing payment information, both students and parents will be able to log into the system and view score reports, performance metrics, and progress at any time. Detailed updates are periodically emailed to both students and parents so that everyone in the family knows how the review process is going. In addition to progress in specific modules, other data are tracked and reported as well, like the amount of active time spent on certain modules and the amount of inert time that the student was logged on at the Accolade site but not actively working through material.

Q: How much does the Premier Course cost?

The fee for the full Premier Course is $500, payable by credit or debit card. This registration fee covers all expenses for the entire course, and entitles both parents and students to unlimited access to the Accolade site until they achieve the results they are looking for.

Q: What safeguards are in place to secure the Accolade site and the personal information of our customers?

The confidentiality and security of our members' personal and financial information is of utmost importance. The Accolade team works diligently to keep the site running smoothly and to prevent unauthorized access. Because Accolade believes so strongly in securing our customers' data, we use PayPal (a subsidiary of eBay) to securely process all of our financial transactions.

Q: What kind of score improvement can I expect with Accolade?

Some students who enroll in the comprehensive Premier Course at least two months prior to their test date and complete all of the Accolade tutorials, drills and tests on schedule experience total score improvements between 400 and 500 points (out of 2400) from the PSAT to the SAT. Students with less time to devote to their preparation can expect to increase their score by 100 to 300 points (out of 2400).

Q: Why doesn't Accolade offer a score improvement guarantee like some other companies in the test prep business?

Other companies don't really guarantee score improvement either. What they do say is that students who don't improve can repeat the course for free. Accolade already allows students unlimited access to the tutorial system; in other words, this kind of "guarantee" is automatically part of the Accolade approach no matter what a student's SAT scores are. Once students have paid the course fees to enroll with Accolade, those students can continue to study and refine their test-taking skills for as long as they want, until they achieve the results they are seeking.

Q: What if I enroll with Accolade and my SAT scores don't improve?

Once you join Accolade, we consider you a member for as long as it takes for you to succeed. You can continue to access the Accolade site and benefit from additional instruction and practice, at no additional cost to you, until you achieve the results you are looking for. We believe in the potential of all our students to improve their performance on the SAT, and we know from experience that with hard work and sustained study, everyone can triumph eventually.
